This notice explains what personal data Mente Rica Limited collects when you use this website or contact us, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We take your privacy seriously and we handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the rules made under it.
1. Who we are
This website is run by Mente Rica Limited, a company registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission under number RC 1734124, trading as Mente Rica Global. Our office is at 35 Yesufu Sanusi Street, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria.
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. You can reach us about any privacy matter at hello@mentericaglobal.com or on +234 707 921 7859.
2. The information we collect
We collect only what we need. That usually means:
- Details you give us through our contact form: your name, email address, and if you choose to share them, your phone number, organisation, the service you are interested in and the content of your message.
- Details you send us directly by email, phone, WhatsApp or social media.
- Technical data that any website receives when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. Our hosting provider keeps this in short lived server logs for security and to keep the site running.
We do not ask for sensitive personal data through this website, and we ask you not to send it in a contact message. If you become a client, we will explain in your engagement letter any further data we need and why.
3. How and why we use it
We use your personal data to:
- reply to your enquiry and discuss how we might help you;
- prepare a proposal or engagement if you ask us to;
- enrol you on a training programme or tell you about a course you asked about;
- keep this website secure and stop spam and misuse; and
- meet our legal, tax and regulatory duties.
The legal bases we rely on are your consent when you send us a message, steps needed before entering a contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and protecting our business, and compliance with a legal obligation. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting anything we did before.
We do not sell your personal data. We will not add you to a marketing list unless you have clearly agreed, and every marketing email we send will let you unsubscribe.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with trusted service providers who help us run this website and our business, and only as far as they need it:
- Vercel Inc., which hosts this website;
- Supabase, which stores the messages sent through our contact form in a secure database; and
- Google, which provides the email account that notifies us of each new message and that we use to reply.
Each of these providers acts on our instructions and is bound to keep your data safe. We may also share information with our professional advisers, or with a regulator, court or law enforcement body where the law requires it.
Our online courses are sold through a separate checkout platform. When you buy a course, that platform handles your payment details under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card details.
5. Transfers outside Nigeria
Some of our providers store data on servers in the United States, the European Union or the United Kingdom. Where personal data leaves Nigeria we take the steps the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 requires, such as relying on the provider’s contractual commitments and recognised safeguards, so that your data receives a level of protection comparable to the protection it has in Nigeria.
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages for up to two years from our last contact with you, so we can follow up and keep a record of what was discussed. If you become a client, we keep engagement and financial records for as long as Nigerian tax and company law requires, which is usually six years after the engagement ends.
Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period and then deleted. When we no longer need your data, we delete it or make it anonymous.
7. How we protect it
This website is served over an encrypted connection. Access to enquiries is limited to the people at Mente Rica who need it, our accounts are protected with strong passwords and two step verification, and our providers apply recognised security standards. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affects your data we will tell you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission as the law requires.
8. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you have the right to:
- be told how your personal data is used, as this notice does;
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data where we no longer have a good reason to keep it;
- ask us to restrict how we use your data, or object to our using it;
- receive your data in a common format and have it sent to someone else;
- withdraw your consent at any time; and
- not be subject to decisions made only by automated means that affect you.
To use any of these rights, email hello@mentericaglobal.com with the subject line “Privacy request”. We will reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first so we do not give your data to the wrong person.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. If you live in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you may also contact your local data protection authority.

We explain how this website uses cookies in our Cookie Notice.
10. Children
